Award-winning Composer to perform with MSO
One of America's legendary composers, Marvin Hamlisch, is coming to Melbourne. In his only Australian performances, Hamlisch will conduct and perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on July 9 and 10.
Hamlisch has been prolific in composing, as well as adapting music for film scores: The Way We Were, The Sting, Ordinary People and The Swimmer to name just a few. He has received a string of awards including Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, Golden Globes, a Tony and a Pulitzer Prize.
Hamlisch will be performing a selection of his own works, as well as the music of greats such as Cole Porter and Jerome Kern.
