Who Loves The Sun

A quiet, tranquil lakeside family home provides a beautiful setting for Canadian writer/director Matt Bissonnette's relationship drama.

Will (Haas) turns up at the home of his childhood friend Daniel's parents, after several years' absence. Aware that there is unfinished business between her son and his friend, Daniel's mother calls her son home.

The lakeside setting subsequently assumes the role of a retreat of sorts for Will and Daniel - and a significant woman in their lives, Maggie (played by Molly Parker, who will be familiar to many, for her role as Alma Garrett in HBO's gritty western series, Deadwood).

This is not a film that will enthral as such, but it is an engaging depiction of the way in which young adults become aware of, and must learn to accept, the shortcomings of their friends and families, and face the reality that life experience brings with it, inevitable pains, losses, and conflicts.
