Strangers (c)

Strangers first screened theatrically in Melbourne at the AICE Israeli Film Festival in 2007, and has since screened on SBS.

Thankfully, we can now own a copy of this beautiful, naturalistic story of an Israeli man and Palestinian woman whose interest in, and love for each other, crosses the cultural divide between them. Belgium and France provide scenic and relatively neutral backdrops before which our characters get to know each other, and their relationship blossoms.

Strangers was made with a paltry US$10,000, and demonstrates just how little money is needed to make a quality film with engaging characters.

The enduring sense of optimism this film evokes is a bonus.
