Let the Right One In (Låt den rätte komma in)

Blonde, angelic-looking schoolboy Oskar toys with a knife, and harbours violent fantasies. In his room, he keeps a scrap book of newspaper articules about violent incidents around the wolrd, and grisly murders. Bullied at school, his violent flights of fancy help redress the imbalance of his helplessness at the hands of his aggressors.

Eli, a girl around the same age moves in next door, and the two begin to meet nightly in the snowy courtyard of their apartment building.

There is little eye contact between them at first: Oskar is shy and tentative, and Eli is aloof.
Nevertheless, they form a connection, and Eli takes an interest in Oskar's difficult situation at school, encouraging him to defend himself, and retaliate.

Since Oskar is aware of the darker side of life, it doesn't take him too long to figure out why Eli smells strange and is sickly pale.

This eerie tale is more than a simple horror film: it's a subdued but visually stunning story of friendship and of two misunderstood outcasts who find solace in each other's company.
