Blood: The Last Vampire

Saya is a stony-faced half-vampire, half-human sumurai schoolgirl, whose duty is to destroy a nefarious society called the Council.

This 2009 adaptation of the anime of the same name looks promising, but is frightfully confused. The plot is convoluted, the characters are incongruous and despite some beautiful imagery, the CGI enhancement of violent scenes actually detracts from the overall quality of the film.

This film might be a curiosity for fans of the original anime, but those not familiar with the anime may want to look elsewhere for their fix of vampire/samurai action.
