Reel Chill Vol.2

This two-CD compilation includes an assortment of blissful and relaxing movies from recent films. Of particular note, is the sheer variety.
A perusal of the tracklisting reveals some surprises. You may not recall Johnny Greenwood's soundtrack for There Will Be Blood, for instance, being terribly relaxing, but there is, indeed, a lovely track from that film included in this compilation.
Most of the pieces have been composed by film music specialists, but the producers of Reel Chill Vol.2 have included a couple of tracks that were not written specifically for film, but which will be familiar to film lovers (such as Satie's Gymnopedie No.1, which has been used in many films, but which has been included here because of its use in The Royal Tennenbaums).
Actually, the producers should be congratulated for assembling an array of "chillout" themes composed for films, and for casting a wide net in their search for music to include in this collection.
This CD is not only for fans of film music, but for anybody wanting to be swept away by a couple of hours of utterly beautiful music.
