Music From The Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy
Suites For Symphony Orchestra And Large Chorus

Hans Zimmer is a familiar name to film fans and film score afficianados. Klaus Badelt, however, may not be so well known.
He was retained by Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, to compose the music for the first of the "Pirates" trilogy (The Curse Of The Black Pearl), after Alan Silvestri, who had originally been commissioned to compose the score, withdrew from the project shortly before its release.
Interestingly, Badelt had previously worked with Zimmer, the latter of whom went on to write the soundtracks to the subsequent two instalments of the trilogy.
Note that the title of the CD stipulates that it is music "... for Symphony Orchestra and Large Choir". As usual, the City of Prague Philharmonic (who have been recording a number of high profile film scores), sounds fantastic. But the icing on the cake is the Choir, whose contribution propels this already splendid music to epic proportions.
It doesn't matter if you've seen the films or not, or even if you saw the films and didn't care for them; the music on this CD is excellent, and the information in the booklet is highly amusing!
