Cult Cuts
This collection comprises a curious assortment of themes, from percussively-driven head-nod-inducing and shamelessly groovy tunes (such as the excerpts from Kill Bill), to contemplative adagios (The Poet Acts from The Hours), to interestingly, a track from Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain. Another track by Clint Mansell for the same film is equally at home in the Reel Chill Vol.2 compilation!
Aside from being enjoyable listening, Cult Cuts is a great sampler of film music, spanning a range of cinematic tastes, providing listeners with the opportunity to hear music they wouldn't have otherwise heard, depending on their film preferences. Thankfully, the order of the tracks allows for a seamless, musically pleasing journey through a variety of music from contemporary cinema.
